As you may well know, on average, Wales is quite rainy. In fact, on average it rains 180 days of the year! That's why Cardiff is one of the best places to go on a rainy day. We have an abundance of things to do when it's raining, just because we're so accustomed to the pitter patter of raindrops.

So because we're so fond of our home and the rainy weather, we've put together a list of the best places to go on a rainy day.

Cardiff International White Water

While this may seem a little contradictory, isn't it more fun embracing the water rather than running away from it? Cardiff International White Water can be found in the international sports village in Cardiff Bay and is filled with tons of fun water based activities. From indoor body boarding to outdoor white water rafting, CIWW is certainly a place to visit when it's raining in Cardiff.

This traditional tea room has been a favourite amongst locals and tourists for some time, thanks to it's amazing selection of cakes, all served in delightful surroundings with lots of vintage details. The best part about Pettigrew's afternoon tea menu, is that you are able to choose your own sandwich fillings and cake, making it ideal for those who like to enjoy their favourite flavours.

When it comes to Cardiff's hotels, Park Plaza always comes out on top in the fight for the best afternoon tea! Alongside the traditional option, Laguna Kitchen also offer a 'Gentleman's' tea, complete with mini venison burgers and Yorkshire puddings. One of their most popular, however, is the Hendricks 'G & Tea', which swaps the traditional beverage for a refreshing cocktail!

They specialise in proper Italian pizza - the pizzas have their own separate menu, in fact - but there are plenty of other dishes available too if pizza isn't your thing.
