Kitchen appliances can be very heavy and unwieldy, and this often makes it difficult to safely remove the old unit from your kitchen.

Then, of course, there’s the question of what to do with your old appliance once you’ve got it out of the house. Environmentally speaking, it’s best to recycle old white goods, but you may not be able to transport your appliance to your nearest household recycling centre for disposal.

When you’re ordering a new appliance from the Kitchen Economy website, you may notice the ‘Disconnect & Recycle’ option that’s available when you reach the checkout.

Ticking this box means that, for a small additional charge, we will remove and recycle your old appliance for you when we deliver your brand new one.

What Does This Service Include?

If you select our disconnect and recycle option at the checkout, the Kitchen Economy team will:

• Safely disconnect your existing appliance from your gas, water and/or electricity supply points
• Remove your unwanted appliance from your property
• Ensure that the appliance is recycled in accordance with the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Recycling (WEEE) directive.

Selecting this option saves you a lot of heavy lifting while also ensuring that you’re not harming the environment by getting rid of your unwanted white goods.
